Nissan Begins Construction of Distribution Center in Tennessee

Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Nissan North America, Incorporated (Franklin, Tennessee), a division of Nissan Motor Company, Limited (OTC:NSANY) (Chuo-ku, Japan), has commenced the construction of a $25 million national parts and redistribution center in Mt. Juliet, Tennessee. The firm plans to construct the 720,000-square-foot facility on a site of 59 acres.

The site will include a 20,000-square-foot office building, which will help the company relocate existing operations from two Rutherford County facilities. The construction started in May 2009 and is expected to be completed in April 2010.

Opus Corporation (Minnetonka, Minnesota) has been picked to develop the facility. Opus Northwest is overseeing construction of the building, and Opus Architects & Engineers designed the building.

E. Smith Heating & Air Conditioning, Incorporated (Marietta, Georgia) was chosen to do the electrical work, and Gipson Mechanical Contractors (Memphis, Tennessee) was chosen to do the mechanical work.
