Northeastern Ohio to See About 300 Megawatts of New Wind Power Capacity

Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--SGR Site Associates LLC (Willoughby, Ohio) is developing two windfarms in Ohio: one in Ashtabula County and one in Trumbull County. The Ashtabula windfarm will be between 105 and 157.5 megawatts (MW) and could be expanded at a later date to include offshore wind turbine/generators. The windfarm in Trumbull County is about 180 MW. The projects are scheduled to commence construction in 2011 and should come online in 2012.

SGR is working to develop partnerships with major players in the wind industry. According to SGR President Ronald Russo, deals with Duke Energy Corporation (NYSE:DUK) (Charlotte, North Carolina) and Elemental Markets LLC (Houston, Texas) fell through and they are working to get other developers involved.
