CRUDE OIL
China Targets Oil in U.S.-China Trade War - China said crude oil would be among the U.S. products hit by tariffs of 5% as of September 1, sending crude prices to two-week lows on Friday as that compounded worries about a slowdown in global oil demand. (Reuters)
PRODUCTION
Number of Rigs Drilling for Oil in U.S. Declines - U.S. energy firms cut the most oil rigs in about four months in the week ending August 23, with the rig count falling to the lowest since January 2018. Drillers cut 16 oil rigs. (Reuters)
GASOLINE
China's Gasoline Exports in July at Near Record - China's gasoline exports in July rose to near-record monthly levels, customs data showed on Friday, as refiners stepped up overseas shipments amid a wave of new production and slowing domestic demand. Gasoline shipments reached 1.56 million tonnes last month, data from the General Administration of Customs showed, up from 1 million tonnes in June and 890,000 tonnes in July last year. (Reuters)
