Overhaul Planned at Neste Oil's Porvoo Refinery

Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Neste Oil Corporation's (Espoo, Finland) 210,000-barrel-per-day (BBL/d) refinery in Porvoo, Finland, will undergo a major overhaul in April.

The turnaround is expected to last approximately 31 non-production days and will entail routine inspection, cleaning and maintenance for the entire facility. Units such as the crude distillation unit, the 30,618-BBL/d vacuum distillation unit, and the 8,383-BBL/d hydrocracking unit, among others, will be brought offline. The refinery's last major turnaround took place in 2005, and the next one is scheduled for April 2014.

The Porvoo Refinery is an onshore complex located in the Kilpilahti Industrial Zone, about 20 kilometres west of Porvoo. The facility employs about 2,000 people.

Neste Oil's refineries are located in Porvoo and Naantali and have a combined capacity of approximately 260,000 BBL/d.
