Rocky Mountains Region to See $900 Million in Third-Quarter Oil & Gas Production Project Starts, Completions

Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Industrial Info is tracking more than $900 million in planned Oil & Gas Production project starts and completions in the Rocky Mountains region in third-quarter 2018. The Rocky Mountains region includes Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, New Mexico, Nevada, Utah and Wyoming. Colorado leads in the value of these projects, with $415 million, followed by New Mexico, with $364 million.

Among the projects set to kick off is Summit Midstream Partners' (NYSE:SMLP) (The Woodlands, Texas) cryogenic natural gas processing plant unit addition at its facility in Grover, Colorado. The addition will have a processing capacity of 60 million cubic feet per day of natural gas, produced from Colorado's Denver-Julesburg (DJ) Basin. The project will bring total plant capacity to 80 million cubic feet per day. Construction is set to kick off this summer and be completed by the end of the year. Sterling Energy Company (Lakewood, Colorado) is planning to construct a natural gas train at its facility in Briggsdale, Colorado. The train will be able to process 28 million cubic feet per day of natural gas and will bring total plant capacity to 48 million cubic feet per day. Baumberger & Associates (Fort Morgan, Colorado) is design engineer on the project, which is expected to kick off late in the quarter and be completed in the second quarter of next year. In New Mexico, two companies are planning to install compressor stations as part of their natural gas gathering systems. Salt Creek Midstream LLC will install three compressor stations as part of its Delaware Basin gathering system. XTO Energy (Fort Worth, Texas, part of Exxon Mobil Corporation (NYSE:XMO) (Irving, Texas), will install three compressor stations for its Loving gathering system. The projects are expected to be completed before the end of the year. Some even larger projects are wrapping up in the quarter. Among these is DCP Midstream LP's (NYSE:DCP) (Denver, Colorado) Phase II expansion of its O'Connor natural gas processing plant near Kersey, Colorado. The 200 million-cubic-foot addition will bring the total plant capacity to 380 million cubic feet per day. Saulsbury Industries (Odessa, Texas) is providing engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) on the project, which kicked off earlier this year. Near Keenesburg, Colorado, Cureton Midstream LLC (Denver) will wrap up construction of its grassroot cryogenic natural gas processing plant. The plant will have a processing capacity of 60 million cubic feet per day and will process gas from the Niobrara Basin. Honeywell UOP Russell LLC (Tulsa, Oklahoma) is performing EPC on the project, which has an estimated TIV of $60 million. For more information, see Industrial Info's project report.

In New Mexico, 3Bear Energy LLC (Denver) plans to wrap up construction of grassroot wellhead gathering system this summer. The 100-mile system will gather crude oil and natural gas from the Delaware Basin to transport to a processing plant that is planned for completion in the fourth quarter. 3S Services (Hobbs, New Mexico) is general contractor on the project.
