Sulfur Project in Alberta Awards FEED Contract, Looks to EPC Award

Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Keyera Corporation (TSX:KEY) (Calgary, Alberta) has awarded Brimrock Group Incorporated (Calgary) contracts for front-end engineering and design (FEED) and equipment supply for the planned, grassroot, 1,500-ton-per-day sulfur-forming and materials-handling facility, which is to be built at Keyera's Strachen Natural Gas Processing Plant in Alberta.

The project will use Brimrock's RS1500 sulfur-forming technology, making the Strachen plant the most advanced sulfur forming facility in Canada, Keyera said.

Keyera expects to select an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) firm by the end of the second quarter. The EPC firm will complete detailed engineering for the project and release subcontractor bid documents during the third quarter. The project, currently in the capital estimating phase, expects to begin turning dirt during the first quarter of 2015, and to be completed by year-end 2015.
