Researched by Industrialinfo.com (Industrial Information Resources, Incorporated; Houston, Texas). Teva Pharmaceuticals Industries Limited (NASDAQ: TEVA) (Jerusalem, Israel) subsidiary, Teva Pharmaceuticals USA Incorporated (North Wales, Pennsylvania) is expanding its antibiotics manufacturing plant in Mexico, Missouri. The Mexico plant first opened in 1990 and operated under the name of Biocraft until a merger with Teva in 1996. The plant currently manufactures older generation antibiotics, including amoxicillin and penicillin. As demand waned for the plant's product lines, the company curtailed production and laid off 40 people in 2002.The new antibiotics that Teva will add to the production line are cefadroxil, cefdinir, cefaprozil, and dioxicilin. The company expects to hire an additional 12 people as a result of the expansion, which is scheduled to be complete in 2006.
