Total Schedules Maintenance Turnaround at Antwerp Refinery

Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Total SA (NYSE:TOT) (Paris, France) will be performing a turnaround at the company's 360,000-barrel-per-day (BBL/d) refinery in Antwerp, Belgium, in the first quarter of 2011.

The future planned shutdown, which will entail mainly cleaning and inspection, will take place in all 37 units of the plant, including the 96,000-BBL/d Atmospheric Residual Desulfurization unit, the 26,250-BBL/d Hydrodesulfurization (HDS) (Diesel) unit, the 26,250-BBL/d HDS 4 (Kerosene) unit, the 151,000-BBL/d Crude Distillation unit 3, and the 211,000-BBL/d Crude Distillation unit 4. This turnaround was originally scheduled for the first quarter of 2010, but because of economic reasons was delayed until the first quarter of 2011.

Separately, the 50,000-BBL/d Fluid Catalytic Cracking unit 1, the ESP, and the 30,000-BBL/d Visbreaker unit are under maintenance and expected to be back online the last week of November.
