Advanced BioEnergy plans Groundbreaking Today on 100 Million Gallon per Year Fuel Ethanol Plant in Nebraska

Researched by Industrialinfo.com (Industrial Information Resources, Incorporated; Houston, Texas). Farmer cooperative owned Advanced BioEnergy L.L.C. (Geneva, Nebraska) has scheduled a groundbreaking ceremony today for a new $100+ million fuel ethanol plant near Fairmont, Nebraska.

Plans call for the creation of a nameplate 100 million gallon per year fuel ethanol plant that will convert about 36 million bushels of corn annually into the renewable fuel. The plant will also produce an estimated 640,000 tons per year of dried distiller’s grains, a by-product of ethanol production used as a feed additive.

The company selected ICM Incorporated (Colwich, Kansas) to provide the ethanol process technology and plant construction and construction management will be handled by Fagen Incorporated (Granite Falls, Minnesota). Construction is expected to take about fourteen months to complete and the target date for completion is March of 2007, weather permitting.

The official groundbreaking ceremony will take place today, Friday December 2, 2005, at the plant site, located roughly one mile south of Fairmont on the west side of Highway 81. Rick Sheehy, Nebraska’s Lieutenant Governor, will be the ceremony’s keynote speaker.

Once the facility becomes operational, it’s expected to create about 45 full time jobs.

Advanced BioEnergy marks the fourth ethanol plant currently under construction in the state of Nebraska. Abengoa Bioenergy, Cornhusker Energy Lexington, and Nebraska BioClean are all currently building in the state. Eleven plants are currently operational in Nebraska and eight additional projects are in various stages of early development.
