A.P. Plasman to Build $16 Million Automotive Trim Plant in Alabama

Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Canadian automotive supplier A.P. Plasman (Windsor, Ontario) will build a $16 million manufacturing plant in Fort Payne, Alabama, to produce automotive exterior trim. A.P. Plasman expects to begin construction on the 170,000-square-foot plant later this month, with the hopes of finishing by May 2011.

The investment will provide plastic injection molding, painting and assembly of automotive exterior parts and tool repair to clients such as Nissan, Toyota, Honda and General Motors, and it moves the company a step closer to customers in the southern U.S. Plasman hopes to have the facility up and running by 2011, and expects to hire 150 to 200 employees initially, with 350 expected to be working there by 2014. The plant also will supply items such as front grills, truck skins, and molding for various auto manufacturers.

Hill Wayne Construction Company (Fort Payne, Alabama) was chosen by A.P. Plasman to perform construction and engineering.
