Brazilian Beer Market Continues to Expand, an Industrial Info Market Brief
Brazil is the third largest beer market in the world, and it is constantly expanding.
Released Tuesday, April 28, 2020
Brazil is the third largest beer market in the world, and it is constantly expanding. The country is seeing growth in its premium beer market, proven by the success of microbreweries, which have now pushed large Brazilian breweries to rethink their beer-making philosophy, improving the quality of mass-produced brands.
AmBev, which has brands like Brahma in its portfolio, plans to invest $432 million (USD) this year to open two new plants in Brazil, where it faces tougher competition.
Heineken has expanded aggressively and announced that it will complete a large expansion to increase the production capacity at its brewery in Ponta Grossa, in the Brazilian state of Paraná -- an investment of $185 million (USD) that will be applied between this year and 2021, and will focus on its Heineken and Amstel labels.
