Printpack $31 Million Expansion Underway in Delaware

Printpack Incorporated (Atlanta, Georgia), one of the largest flexible packaging companies in the United States, has begun construction on a $31 million dollar expansion of its manufacturing operations in New Castle, Delaware.

Construction started in early May for the expansion, which includes the installation of three new production lines and the rebuilding of an existing extrusion line. The first production line is currently being installed, with the second line to be installed in September, and the third line in October 2005. Construction is expected to be complete in the spring of 2006.

Shure-Line Incorporated located in Kenton, Delaware, was awarded the general construction contract for the expansion.

Printpack Incorporated, headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, manufactures and converges flexible packaging goods used by the food and consumer product industries for packaging salted snacks, cookies and crackers and confectionery, bakery cereal, meats, tissue, and towels. The company's products include laminates made of plastic film, aluminum foil, metalized films, and paper with specialized coatings, cast and blown monolayer films, and co-extruded films. Including New Castle, Delaware, Printpack operates seventeen manufacturing facilities in twelve states, as well as in Mexico and the United Kingdom.
