SaskPower Begins Construction of $150 Million Ermine Peaking Project

Construction began this month and is anticipated to be ready for commercial start-up by early 2010. The project will consist of building a peaking facility that will be equipped with two 47-MW GE (NYSE:GE) (Fairfield, Connecticut) LM6000 combustion turbine generators that will operate in a simple-cycle peaking configuration, supplying power when energy demands are at their highest during the summer and winter.

Graham Construction Incorporated (Saskatoon, Saskatchewan) will provide the turnkey engineering, procurement and construction services for the project.
