Researched by Industrial Info Resources Latin America (Cordoba, Argentina)--Brazilian ethanol and sugar producer Copersucar (Sao Paulo, Brazil) plans to inaugurate a new ethanol storage terminal in the second quarter of 2014, in Paulinia, state of Sao Paulo. The project has a total investment value (TIV) of $60 million. Construction began in December 2012.
The terminal will have 10 tanks with a total storage capacity of 180 million cubic meters, and will serve as the company logistics hub for ethanol produced by several sugar cane mills in Sao Paulo state. The engineering company MGM Construtora (Campinas, Brazil) is the project contractor.
For 2015, Copersucar plans to double the terminal storage capacity and to constructed a 1.9-kilometerpipeline, which will connect the terminal to the new Ethanol Pipeline System, which is operated by the ethanol transportation company Logum Logistica (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil). Copersucar owns 20% of Logum Logistica shares.
