Researched by Industrial Info Resources China (Beijing, China)--Zhejiang Thermal Power Construction Company (ZTPC) (Hangzhou, Zhejiang) kicked off the concrete foundation placement for the boiler of Unit 4 at SDIC Qinzhou Power Generation Company Limited's (Qinzhou, Guangxi) 2,000-megawatt (MW) expansion project at the Qinzhou Power Plant on April 9.
ZTPC, a subsidiary of China Energy Engineering Corporation (CEEC) (Beijing), won the construction and erection bid for the unit on April 19, 2013. The concrete for the boiler foundation has a volume of 1,310 cubic meters. The largest foundation is 27.6 meters long, 9.6 meters wide and 3 meters high. ZTPC used two concrete mixing towers, with two vehicle pumps and eight concrete tankers, for a continuous concrete supply. The continuous placement was expected to last 18 hours.
The SDIC Qinzhou Power Plant, located at Qinzhou Port in Qinzhou City, in southwest China's Guangxi autonomous region, is a joint investment by SDIC Power Holdings Company Limited (Beijing) (SH.600886) (61%), the power sector flagship company of State Development & Investment Corporation (SDIC) (Beijing), and Guangxi Investment Group Company Limited (Nanning, Guangxi) (39%).
The power plant currently has two 600-MW, coal-fired, supercritical units in operation. The Phase II project is furnished with two 1,000-MW, coal-fired, ultra-supercritical steam turbine generating units. The main turbine, generator and boiler (TGB) equipment required for the project is supplied by Shanghai Electric Corporation (Shanghai). Guangdong Electric Power Design Institute (Guangzhou, Guangdong), another subsidiary of the CEEC, is responsible for the design and engineering of the project.
According to the schedule, both units of the project will begin operations in 2015. Upon completion, the power plant will be the largest coal-fired power plant in Guangxi.
