Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--FedEx Corporation (NYSE:FDX) (Memphis, Tennessee) has begun site preparation for a regional distribution center to be constructed in Wichita, Kansas.
The company plans to construct a 68,000-square-foot building, with 96 doors and a 10,000-square-foot maintenance facility, on 30 acres of a 140-acre site at the Skyway Industrial Park. The building will support the company's regional distribution operations and increased freight shipping-demands. Site preparation began this month. Building construction is anticipated to begin thereafter, with overall completion set for the spring of 2011.
Crossland Construction Incorporated (Columbus, Kansas) was selected to provide general construction services for the center.
