The contract is for the expansion of the natural gas compressor station 420, located near Palmetto, Florida, in Manatee County. Gulfstream plans to increase its pipeline throughput to enable it to deliver an additional 35 million cubic feet per day (MMcf/d) to Hines electric generation station, located in Polk County, Florida, and owned by Progress Energy Florida Incorporated for a firm service term of 25 years.

Gulfstream plans to construct a new building and install a new 20,500-horsepower solar titan T-130 turbine-driven compressor package. In addition, Gulfstream intends to install two new scrubber units, additional gas coolers and piping upgrades, and will replace the impellers on the two existing Solar Mars T-100S turbine compressor packages that were installed as a part of Gulfstream's Phase IV expansion, which was put in service on January 1, 2009. Gulfstream plans to begin construction activities on its $50.8 million Phase V pipeline expansion in May or June of 2010, with a completion and in-service date targeted for April 1, 2011, before the summer cooling season.
