Imaflex Opens New Plant in North Carolina

Montreal-based Imaflex Incorporated (TSX-V:IFX.A ) is investing $10 million to refurbish the old Tyco Plastics building at 1200 Unity Street in Thomasville, North Carolina, which had been shuttered since December of 2003, where it will produce plastic packaging materials.

Imaflex extrudes flexible polyethylene film, both metallized (through its subsidiary Canslit Incorporated) and plain, used for packaging materials, utilizing computerized work stations and sophisticated, high-tech equipment. The company will initially hire fifty workers, most of which will be skilled manufacturing jobs. The company received a $125,000 grant from the One North Carolina Fund as an incentive to locate in Thomasville.

The new plant will be Imaflex’s first U.S. manufacturing location and is expected to be operational on October 3, 2005. Imaflex has plans for future expansion at the site.
