Iran is shifting its dependency from oil and related product to its non-oil manufacturing sector, in a bid to better stabilize its economy. In 2019-20, non-oil exports, totaling $41.3 billion, exceeded oil exports for the first time in modern Iranian history, providing a boon to its manufacturing sector.
Iran's industrial and consumer products are exported to Europe, China and Russia. Iran has well-established industries for automotive, rubber, plastic and textile products.
