Researched by Industrial Info Resources China (Beijing, China)--Jiangsu Electric Power Design Institute (JEPDI) (Nanjing, Jiangsu), a subsidiary of China Energy Engineering Corporation (CEEC) (Beijing), received the notice of bid award issued by Jiangsu International Tendering Company Limited (JITC) (Nanjing, Jiangsu) confirming JEPDI as the winner of the survey and engineering bid for the Wuxi West District Gas-fired Cogeneration Project on November 4, 2013. The award was announced by the CEEC on November 5.
The Wuxi West project is located in Xizhang Village, Qianqiao Town of Huishan District, in the northwest suburb of Wuxi City in eastern China's Jiangsu province. It is a grassroot project invested in by Wuxi Western District Gas-fired Power Investment and Development Company Limited (Wuxi, Jiangsu), a subsidiary of Wuxi Public Utilities Industrial Group Company Limited (Wuxi, Jiangsu).
The project received preliminary approval from the Energy Administration of Jiangsu Province to kick-off pre-Stage I preparation in June 2013. JITC was then mandated by the owner to conduct public bidding on survey and engineering services for the project. In August 2012, the Environmental Impact Assessment Report for the project received approval from the Environmental Protection Agency of Jiangsu Province.
The project will be built with two 400-megawatt (MW), combined-cycle cogeneration units based on F-class combustion turbines, and two 35-ton-per-hour, gas-fired boilers as spares. In order to facilitate the construction of the second combined-cycle unit, the engineering of the entire plant, as well as the common facilities, will be performed in the first stage. In addition to the survey and engineering, JEPDI will provide project management services. According to the schedule, the first set of combined-cycle units will begin construction in December 2013 and are expected to begin operations in the first half of 2015.
