Qatar Petroleum chose U.S.-based McDermott International Incorporated, a leading engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) company, for its giant North Field offshore brownfield project, estimated to be worth $750 million.

Qatar aims to reach 110 million tons per annum of LNG production, from its current 77 million tons per annum. McDermott fended off Indian, Italian and Malaysian EPC competitors.
