Dow has rescheduled a turnaround of the 1.1 million-pound-per-year Ethylene Oxide Unit 1 at its Saint Charles (Taft), Louisiana, plant. The 20-day turnaround, originally expected to begin in February, is now expected to take place in March 2021.
Westlake Polymers has completed planned maintenance on the 62 million-pound-per-year Polyethylene Line A unit at its Sulphur, Louisiana, plant. The week-long turnaround was completed in late January.
Huntsman is continuing planned maintenance on the 256,733-ton-per-year propylene oxide (PO) and 15,100-BBL/d methyl tert-butyl ether (MTBE) units at its Port Neches, Texas, plant. They were shut down on November 27, 2019 due to an explosion at the nearby TPC Group butadiene plant, and then remained offline for a planned turnaround. Current expectations are to restart the units February 21.

Advanced Petrochemical Company is continuing with a 22-day maintenance turnaround, that began February 9, of the 1 billion-pound-per-year propane dehydrogenation (PDH) and two 496 million-pound-per-year polypropylene units at its Jubail Complex in Saudi Arabia. Expectations are to complete repairs and restart the units by March 1.
Borealis Plastomers is performing a 2-month, major plant-wide maintenance turnaround at its Chemelot-Geleen Plastomers Plant in the Netherlands, which features a 264 million-pound-per-year linear polyethylene unit. The turnaround kicked off on February 10.
Tosoh Corporation is on schedule to perform a 44-day planned turnaround, beginning May 17, of the 176.4 million-pound-per-year low-density polyethylene (LDPE) unit at its Shunan Nanyo Chemical Complex in Japan. Expectations are to complete repairs and restart the unit by June 29.
