Vale Idles Malaysia Iron Ore Complex, an Industrial Info Market Brief
Vale Malaysia Minerals Sendirian Berhad, the subsidiary of Brazilian iron ore miner Vale, plans to shutter its Teluk Rubiah iron ore blending terminal complex in Malaysia as the country imposes a lockdown to manage the nation's COVID-19 outbreak. The Teluk Rubiah terminal has the capacity to process 30 million tons per year of iron ore from incoming Valemaxes from Brazil and plans to close after an existing ore vessel completes loading/unloading procedures. Vale Malaysia plans to shutter operations until end of March as it moves the majority of its staff to work from home and redirect current vessels heading in to China.
