PETROLEUM REFINING HIGHLIGHTS
Valero has reduced production to minimum rates at its 265,000-barrel-per-day (BBL/d) Jean Gaulin Canada refinery due to COVID-19 pandemic concerns. The refinery has been operating at 50% capacity since late March.

EP Petroecuador has shut down its 110,000-BBL/d Esmeraldas, Ecuador, refinery. The site will remain offline until market conditions improve.

Engen Petroleum Limited continues with the shutdown of its 125,000-BBL/d Durban refinery in South Africa. The refinery tentatively is expected to restart by April 30.

PETROCHEMICAL HIGHLIGHTS
Innophus has postponed capital projects in Port Maitland, Ontario, until next year. The plant is still operating.

United Initiators has postponed all projects indefinitely at its site in Helena, Arkansas.

Dangote has pushed back the commissioning date of its grassroot ammonia plant in Lekki, Nigeria. The Plant is expected to produce 726,000 tons per year of ammonia.

Export Trading Company Limited Zambia has postponed an annual turnaround of its NPK fertilizer plant to June.

ZFC Limited of Zimbabwe faces a delay in funding approval for its pesticides unit renovation project. The project now is likely to receive approvals in the third quarter of this year.

Huettenes Albertus Chemische Werke GmbH in Germany and Allnex GmbH in Austria are running their synthetic resin complexes at derated capacity.

U.S. exporters are seeing a rash of cancellations for purchased liquefied natural gas (LNG) destined for export. Cheniere's Sabine Pass and Corpus Christi facilities seem to be the hardest hit by the cancellations. Freeport LNG is said to have been hit with cancellations as well. Companies in Europe and Asia are experiencing a demand decrease due to COVID-19 and have opted not to receive the LNG. It is estimated that 20 LNG cargo deliveries have been cancelled for May and June.
