PBF on May 19 restarted the 18,000-BBL/d Hydrocracker at its 175,000-BBL/d Delaware City, Delaware, refinery, after the unit was shut down on May 18 due to operational issues.
PBF Toledo Refining Company restarted the 79,000-BBL/d FCCU on May 15, at a 30% rate reduction, but its 80,000-BBL/d Crude 5 unit remains offline with no set restart date, at its 160,000-BBL/d Toledo, Ohio, refinery, due to lower product demand as a result of COVID-19. The remainder of the refinery continues to operate at a 30% reduction, but that will continue to be evaluated as demand increases.
Petro Star on May 15 restarted the lone Crude unit at its 60,000-BBL/d Valdez, Alaska, refinery, after planned maintenance that began on May 6.
International
CHN Energy Ningxia Coal Industry continues with a planned turnaround of the 992 million-pound-per-year polyethylene (PE) unit, which began May 5, at its Yinchuan Polyolefins Plant in China. Expectations are to complete repairs and restart the unit by June 10.
Borealis Grandpuits has completed a planned maintenance turnaround of the 360,000-metric ton-per-year ammonia unit at its Grandpuits Fertilizers Plant in France. The turnaround kicked off in early April, and was completed in mid-May.
LG MMA Company Limited has rescheduled a 21-day planned turnaround of the 3,600-BBL/d methyl tertiary butyl ether (MTBE) unit at its Yeosu MMA No 1 plant in South Korea. The turnaround, which was initially scheduled for May 15, will now begin June 4. Expectations are to complete repairs and restart the unit by June 24.
