Shell Chemical on August 25 shut down non-essential parts of its Deer Park, Texas, plant, due to Hurricane Laura; however, main production units such as the 2.3 billion pound-per-year OP3 and 300 million-pound-per-year OP2D planned to remain operational.
LyondellBasell on August 25 shut down its approximately 1.69 billion-pound-per-year polypropylene production plant in Lake Charles, Louisiana, in preparation for Hurricane Laura.

Petroleum Refining
Citgo's 420,000-BBL/d Lake Charles, Louisiana, refinery, remains shut due to Hurricane Laura. Plant personnel are assessing any wind damage that may have occurred. No flooding took place, but the area was hit with widespread power outages. A restart timeline has yet to be established.
ExxonMobil is in the process of restarting its 350,000-BBL/d Beaumont, Texas, refinery, in the wake of Hurricane Laura. Operations are expected to be restored by the upcoming weekend.
Chevron's 100,000-BBL/d Pasadena, Texas refinery, was not affected by Hurricane Laura. Power is on and no wind or water issues have been reported. The facility is currently short staffed, but restart procedures will begin as personnel returns.
Power
Marathon's G2 units at its Galveston Bay South Houston Green Power Cogeneration Plant are back online after they were shut as a precaution due to Hurricane Laura. The G4 units remain offline, and are available for startup upon dispatch.
