Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Much of Libya's oil and gas infrastructure was damaged due to its civil war and militant and terrorist attacks, resulting in a number of fields being forced to stop operations. Now that there is some form of stability in the country, operators are returning to these assets to rehabilitate previously shut-in fields.
An example of this is Harouge Oil Operations, a joint operating company of National Oil Operation, Libya and Suncor Oil (North Africa), which is planning to restart its Ghani field. As a part of the process, the company is rehabilitating the Zenad and Farroud water injection facilities in the field. The bidding process is currently in progress for this part of the project.
