Flint Hills, on March 13, shut down the 58,000-barrel-per-day (BBL/d) Continuous Catalytic Reformer in the West Complex of its 300,000-BBL/d refinery in Corpus Christi, Texas, due to a leak. The cause and shutdown duration are unknown at this time, and the company is investigating any required repairs.
Suncor Energy, today, March 14, started a 40-day planned maintenance turnaround of the 45,000-BBL/d Crude 2, 19,000-BBL/d Vacuum and 32,000-BBL/d Hydrocracker units at its 83,000-BBL/d refinery in Sarnia, Ontario.

ENEOS Corporation, on March 10, encountered mechanical issues on the 8,100-BBL/d No.3 Sulfolane Extraction Unit at its 350,200-BBL/d Mizushima Refinery in Japan, and decided to reduce operational rates on all units within the refinery's 150,000-BBL/d Plant A by 30%. The units are expected to resume normal operations by April 8.
PDVSA plans to restart the 77,000-BBL/d Fluid Catalytic Cracker Unit (FCCU) at its 295,000-BBL/d refinery in Cardon, Venezuela in four to five days. The mechanical portion of the turnaround is complete. Separately, the 75,000-BBL/d Crude 4 and 70,000-BBL/d Crude 3 units remain offline.
Petrobras, on March 10, began a 24-day planned turnaround of the 18,000-BBL/d Diesel Hydrotreater (HDT) 108, 22,000-BBL/d Diesel HDT 110, and 12,500-BBL/d Diesel Kerosene 106 units at its 151,000-BBL/d REGAP Refinery in Brazil. The units are expected to return online on April 2, 2022. The refinery continues processing at approximately 85-88% capacity.
