Lithium-ion Battery Recycling on a Roll in South Korea
Young Poong Corporation (Seoul), which operates the world's fourth-largest zinc smelter, Sukpu, is starting a secondary battery recycling business. The corporation announced it has recovered 90% of the lithium, cobalt, nickel and copper in spent batteries.
Young Poong plans to kick off construction on a pilot-scale lithium-ion battery recycling facility this year, and plans to expand with a commercial-scale plant.
