Spurred in part by Devon Energy Corporation's (NYSE:DVN) (Oklahoma City, Oklahoma) Tuesday decision to acquire Validus Energy for $1.8 billion in cash, there was no shortage of talk at this Denver conference, which drew more than 1,000 registrants, about the next potential buyer and seller. Devon did not speak at the conference. Other companies featured: Shell plc (NYSE:SHEL), BP plc (NYSE: BP), Chevron Corporation (NYSE:CVX), and Occidental Petroleum Corporation (NYSE:OXY), APA Corporation (NASDAQ:APA), PDC Energy Incorporated (NASDAQ:PDC).
