Electricity Groups, Grid Operators and Unions Criticize EPA

SUGAR LAND, TEXAS--August 11, 2023--Written by John Egan for Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Electric grid operators, electric trade groups and a coalition of unions representing workers in and around the electricity sector criticized three draft rules issued by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) that would set new source performance standards for greenhouse gas emissions from new, modified and reconstructed fossil-fueled power plants. Public comments on the proposed rules, which were issued this spring, closed August 8. For more on the draft rule, see May 12, 2023, article - EPA Issues Draft Rule Regulating Power Plant Emissions.
