The regional government of Extremadura in Spain and Iberica Sugar Company (a subsidiary of Al Khaleej Sugar Company--the largest standalone sugar company in the world) have signed the protocol of action for the construction of facilities dedicated to the manufacture of sugar in Merida, Spain, and will invest $490 million, creating 200 sugarcane jobs.
