June 23, 2025--Written by Daniel Graeber for Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Though data may vary by geography, the global average greenhouse gas intensity of liquefied natural gas (LNG) deliveries is far greater than the overall natural gas supply, the International Energy Agency (IEA) found. The IEA published results Friday from an assessment of 350 upstream assets, 45 liquefaction plants and 220 regasification terminals globally. For shipping, the agency tracked more than 750 vessels laden with LNG that make roughly 7,000 round-trip voyages per year.
