Deer Park Refining, on July 16, shut down the 67,000-barrel-per-day (BBL/d) SHCU (Hydrocracker), for undisclosed reasons, at its 340,000-BBL/d refinery in Deer Park, Texas, although the unit should be back online in 24 to 48 hours.

Flint Hills, on July 17, began a 35-day planned maintenance turnaround of five units at its 320,000-BBL/d Pine Bend, Minnesota, refinery.

Coffeyville Refining, on July 17, restarted the 32,000-BBL/d Fluid Catalytic Cracking Unit (FCCU) at its 132,000-BBL/d Coffeyville, Kansas, refinery, after the unit shut down on July 11 for unplanned repairs.

International
Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) continues to operate its 760,000-BBL/d Jamnagar SEZ Refinery in India at approximately 93%, due to low demand as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. Since July 19, the 380,000-BBL/d Crude Oil Distillation Unit (CDU) 1 has been operating at 92%, and the 380,000-BBL/d CDU 2 has been at 94%. The units are tentatively expected to resume full throughput by July 31.

Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL), on July 15, began a 25-day planned turnaround of the 7,000-BBL/d Naphtha Hydrotreater (NHT) 1 and 17,069-BBL/d Reformer 1 at its 320,000-BBL/d Kochi Refinery in India. Expectations are to complete repairs and restart the units by August 8. Separately, BPCL continues with an unplanned shutdown of the 35,000-BBL/d Vacuum Gas Oil Hydrodesulphurisation (VGOHDS) unit and 35,000-BBL/d FCCU 1, which began July 16 due to low demand and operational issues. The units are expected to be back online on August 15.

Rompetrol Rafinare SA has restarted its 105,000-BBL/d Petromidia Refinery in Romania, which was shut down on July 12 after an explosion. However, the 18,400-BBL/d Diesel Hydrotreater (HPM) unit, which was damaged in the explosion, remains closed. A damage assessment is still underway.
