Valero, on July 25, restarted the 65,000-barrel-per-day (BBL/d) Fluid Catalytic Cracking Unit (FCCU) at its 180,000-BBL/d Houston, Texas, refinery, after it was tripped offline on July 24.
Pemex TRI completed the restart of its 285,000-BBL/d Lazaro Cardenas (Minatitlan), Mexico, refinery, after it was forced offline due to an explosion that occurred on a transfer pump area on April 7. The 150,000-BBL/d Combinada Maya 4 (Crude) (U-10000) restarted on May 31, followed by downstream units which resumed activities in sequence and were all operational by mid-July.
Pemex TRI is running its 270,000-BBL/d Cadereyta, Mexico, refinery at reduced rates due to inventory controls related to company finances. The 120,000-BBL/d Combinada 1 (Crude 1) is offline, while the 150,000-BBL/d Combinada 2 (Crude 2) is running at 110,000 BBL/d. Separately, the 6,000-BBL/d Hydrofluoric Alkylation (HF) 1 Unit was forced offline due to exchanger issues; the 5,000-BBL/d Methyl tert-Butyl Ether (MTBE) 1 Unit is offline due to a leak; and the 25,000-BBL/d FCCU 2 is offline due to a lack of catalyst.
International
ENEOS Corporation, on July 24, restarted four units in the 180,200-BBL/d Plant B (Area 1-B/3-B) at its 320,000-BBL/d Mizushima Refinery in Japan. The units were forced to shut down as a sympathy outage on July 4 due to boiler issues in the utility area.
TANECO OJSC, on July 24, completed a planned plant-wide maintenance turnaround at its 303,000-BBL/d TANECO Refinery in Russia.
Tehran Oil Refining Company (TORC) has delayed the restart of the 18,000-BBL/d Reformer Unit 1 at its 250,000-BBL/d Tehran Refinery in Iran due to additional repairs needed. The restart is now expected by July 29.
