Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Mitsui Chemicals Incorporated (Tokyo, Japan) has drawn up its "VISION 2030 Long-Term Business Plan," which calls for investing 1.8 trillion yen (US$16 billion) toward growth over fiscal years 2021-2030, evenly split between strategic investments and internal growth.
Mitsui manufactures chemical products for the mobility (automotive), internet & communications, health care, food & packaging and basic materials markets.
The business plan also calls for achieving carbon neutrality by 2050.
"Our efforts here will center around two pillars: The first being to achieve carbon neutrality by reducing our greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, implementing carbon-negative measures and more, while the second is to contribute to society and customers through our products," according to the plan.
In Japan, Industrial Info is tracking 15 projects, worth more than US$115 million, in which Mitsui Chemicals is listed as the plant owner. These include plant maintenance, equipment upgrades and dismantlement, among others.
