BANGALORE, INDIA--June 23, 2010--Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Siemens Energy Incorporated (Erlangen, Germany), a division of electrical and electronics engineering company Siemens AG (NYSE:SI) (Munich, Germany), has secured a supply contract from Latvia's state-owned utility company Latvenergo AS (Riga, Latvia) for the largest three-cylinder steam-turbine generator (STG) ever manufactured in the company's Industrial Power Business unit. The condensing STG will be utilized in the Riga TPP-2 Combined-Cycle Co-Generating Facility, which will supply Riga, the capital of Latvia, with electrical energy and district heat. The new facility will have an electricity-generating capacity of about 420 megawatts (MW) and a heat-generating capacity of about 270 MW. Other companies featured: General Electric Company (NYSE:GE)
