METRO MANILA--January 9, 2025--Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Philippines' sole integrated petrochemical plant will implement a four-month shutdown starting in January to reduce its operational losses. JG Summit Olefins (Batangas City) operates the complex's naphtha cracker, polyethylene and polypropylene plants with extraction units for butadiene and aromatics. The decision to halt operations is due to the ongoing challenges of the petrochemical industry with high naphtha costs and unfavorable global market conditions
