Project in Enel's Growing Renewables Portfolio Gets PPA
September 22, 2023--Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--As it works to expand its renewables portfolio, Enel North America (Andover, Massachusetts), a subsidiary of Enel SpA (Rome, Italy), has said it signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) for a portion of the output at a Texas solar plant under construction. Enel aims to install 5 gigawatts (GW) of renewable generation and battery energy storage capacity, and spend $5.6 billion on clean-energy technologies, in North America through 2025. Industrial Info is tracking $17 billion worth of project activity from Enel and its subsidiaries across the continent, more than one third of which is in Texas.
The company said it is "one of the largest renewable energy operators in Texas," with 3.3 GW of installed wind and solar capacity and 607 MW of battery storage capacity supporting the Electricity Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) grid.
