Proman Mexico Delays Ammonia Project in Sinaloa, an Industrial Info Market Brief

Proman Mexico plans to install a new complex that will have a production capacity of 800,000 metric tons per year of ammonia once the first phase of the project is operational, as well as a second ammonia unit plus a 1 million-ton-per-year methanol unit as part of a second phase. The company was able to complete the construction of the administrative offices, laboratories, part of the utilities and access roads as well as complete the land preparation to start the construction for the processing facilities. However, in March, Proman Mexico was forced to halt all activities when COVID-19 impacted the region. Proman Mexico expects to reactivate the projects by the end of 2020 or early 2021, depending on the evolution of the pandemic.
