June 24, 2024--Written by Daniel Graeber for Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Road travel for the U.S. holiday marking the nation's independence is expected to be heavy, with traffic volumes some 5 million higher than pre-pandemic levels, travel club AAA said. The travel club said it expects 60.6 million people will take a road trip over the long July 4 holiday weekend, some 2.8 million more than last year and 5.3 million more than 2019, the year before the COVID-19 pandemic struck North America.
