NEW DELHI--May 24, 2023--Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--South Africa's government is processing applications for 9,789 megawatts (MW) of renewable-energy projects under the Integrated Renewable Energy and Resource Efficiency Programme (IREREP). It comprises 6,890 MW of wind energy and 2,899 MW of solar photovoltaic power projects, which is equivalent to almost one-third of the country's current electricity demand.
