LyondellBasell Industries NV, in late January, experienced an unplanned shutdown of the 1,150 million-pound-per-year Steam Cracker at its Berre-l'Etang Petrochemical Plant in France, due to a fire in the unit. Damages are currently being assessed, and the restart is tentatively scheduled by mid-February.
Morvarid Petrochemical Company, on January 27, started a 25-day planned maintenance turnaround of the 1,102 million-pound-per-year ethylene unit at its Assaluyeh Petrochemical Complex in Iran. The restart is expected by February 20.
