Pacific Gas & Electric Company's 1,122-megawatt (MW) Diablo Canyon 01 and 1,118-MW Diablo Canyon 02 units at its Diablo Canyon Nuclear Power Station in California have been forced offline due to storm surge and offsite power loss caused by the bomb cyclone hitting the state. Both reactors are currently sitting idle. Plant personnel hope they will not have to completely shut the units down so they will be able to quickly ramp back online once they are cleared to do so.
