Valero, on December 29, shut down the 96,000-barrel-per-day (BBL/d) Heavy Oil Cracker at its 220,000-BBL/d Bill Greehey West Complex in Corpus Christi, Texas. The cause and shutdown duration are unknown at this time. The Heavy Oil Cracker will be included in a 45-day turnaround to start mid-January, along with associated units.

Pemex TRI continues with the mechanical portion of the 35-day planned turnaround of the 163,000-BBL/d Crude Primaria 2, 90,000-BBL/d Vacuum 2 and 40,000-BBL/d Fluid Catalytic Cracker (FCC) 1 at its 325,000-BBL/d Salina Cruz, Mexico, refinery. The turnaround began on December 6 due to mechanical issues on the Vacuum 2 following a fire in August.

Pemex TRI continues to operate its 243,000-BBL/d Salamanca, Mexico, refinery at lower rates due to inventory controls related to company finances. Five units are running below normal capacity, while the remaining downstream units are being kept at approximately 50% capacity. Separately Pemex remains on schedule to begin a 35-day planned turnaround, in February or March, of the 40,000-BBL/d Crude 2 (Primaria 2 Unit RD), 25,000-BBL/d Diesel Hydrotreater HDD U-14 (Diesel), 10,500-BBL/d Isomerization and associated units.

Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) continues with a planned major shutdown of nine units, offline since December 1, at its 160,000-BBL/d Haldia Refinery in India. The units are tentatively expected to be back online by January 4, after a fire delayed the restart. Four other units, under a sympathy shutdown since December 19, also will be back online by January 4.

ENAP Magallanes has rescheduled a 30-day maintenance turnaround of the lone crude unit at its 17,600-BBL/d Gregorio Refinery in Chile. The turnaround now is scheduled to occur in early 2023.
