Kuwait National Petroleum Company (KNPC) continues with a 36-day planned maintenance shutdown of the 190,000-barrel-per-day (BBL/d) Crude Distillation Unit (CDU) 2 (Unit 11) and the 42,000-BBL/d Atmospheric Residue Desulfurization (ARDS) 2 Unit (Unit 12 - Train 2) at its 454,000-BBL/d Mina Abdulla Refinery in Kuwait. The restart is expected by March 8 (previously reported to be March 5).
ENEOS Corporation, on March 5, was forced to shut down the 8,100-BBL/d No. 3 Sulfolane Extraction Unit within the 150,000-BBL/d Plant A at its 350,200-BBL/d Mizushima Refinery in Japan, due to mechanical issues. As a sympathy outage, the 25,000-BBL/d Reformer 5 and 22,600-BBL/d Reformer 7 are reduced to a minimum 10,000 BBL/d and 9,040 BBL/d, respectively, during mechanical repairs. Expectations are to complete repairs and restart the units by April 8, but a final restart schedule is unknown at this time.
Saratov Refinery OJSC is at work on planned maintenance of the 7,500-BBL/d Catalytic Reformer L-35-11/300 unit at its 150,000-BBL/d Saratov Refinery in Russia. The completion is expected by mid-April.
