NEW DELHI--May 23, 2025--Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Uganda has unveiled an ambitious plan to boost its electricity generation capacity to 52 gigawatts (GW) by 2040, as part of its Energy Transition Plan aimed at driving industrial growth and improving energy access. According to the Minister of Energy and Mineral Development, the strategy focuses on a clean energy mix, with 50% of the capacity expected to come from renewable sources like solar, hydro and wind and 40% from nuclear energy. Industrial Info is tracking 88 projects attributed to renewable energy and nuclear power in Uganda, worth US$90.96 billion.
