Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Woodside Energy Group (Perth, Australia) has decided to halt two of its major green hydrogen projects in Australia and New Zealand totaling around 2.3 gigawatts (GW) of electrolyzer capacity.
Woodside has withdrawn its environmental application for the proposed H2Tas green hydrogen and green ammonia project in Tasmania, Australia. The facility was designed to support 1.7 GW of electrolyzer capacity. Also on hold is the Southern Green Hydrogen project in Southland, New Zealand, until market conditions improve. Woodside Energy has ended its partnership with Meridian Energy (Wellington, New Zealand) as the project partner. The project was expected to produce green hydrogen and green ammonia from the 600 megawatts (MW) of electrolyzer capacity.
