Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--China produced 320 million metric tons of coal in June, a drop of 5% from the same month in June 2020, and a 6.1% reduction from output in June 2019, China's National Bureau of Statistics said on July 16.
However, for the first half of 2021, coal output reached 1,950 million metric tons, a 6.4% jump over output during the first six months of 2020, and 7.1% more than output in the first half of 2019, the bureau said.
Also in June, China imported 28.39 million metric tons, up 12.3% year over year. Coal imports for the first half of 2021 amounted to 139.56 million metric tons, down 19.7% from the same period in 2020.
