Cameron LNG has restarted liquefaction operations at its three-train, 15 million-ton-per-year liquefied natural gas (LNG) export plant in Louisiana that was shut down as a precaution ahead of Hurricane Delta.
Motiva shut down the 54,000-BBL/d Delayed Coker on October 9 at its 600,000-BBL/d Port Arthur, Texas, refinery due to extreme winds from Hurricane Delta that caused damage to a cooling tower. A timeline for repairs on the cooling tower are being determined, and a restart date has not been disclosed at this time.
Valero shut down the 75,000-BBL/d AVU 147 (Small Crude unit) on October 9 at its 343,000-BBL/d Port Arthur, Texas, refinery due to extreme winds from Hurricane Delta that caused damage to a cooling tower. A duration for the shutdown has not been disclosed at this time. Additionally, the 57,000-BBL/d VGO Hydrocracker has been shut since August 25 due to Hurricane Laura, and continues as such after Hurricane Delta.

Equinor's Hammerfest LNG plant in Finnmark, Norway, is expected to resume operations on January 1, 2021, after it was damaged in a fire on September 28. The fire, which was extinguished after about six hours, occurred in one of the plant's five 45-megawatt power-generation turbines.
Formosa Petrochemical Corporation (FPCC) continues a 40-day planned turnaround of the 80,000-BBL/d ARDS 1 unit, which began on October 1, at its 540,000-BBL/d Mailiao Refinery in Taiwan. Expectations are to restart the unit by November 9. Crude runs have been reduced by 60% since October 1, and will be adjusted depending on market conditions on or before December 31. Separately, repairs on the 80,000-BBL/d ARDS 2 and 84,000-BBL/d RFCC 1, which were damaged following a fire and explosion incident on July 15, are ongoing. The company plans to restart both units by April 15, 2021, contingent on their status.
Shell Nederland Raffinaderij BV has started a planned maintenance turnaround of the 40,000-BBL/d HDS 5 Gasoil Hydrotreater and Sulfur Recovery units, plus associated units and equipment, at its 404,000-BBL/d Pernis Refinery in the Netherlands. The turnaround kicked off on October 13, and is expected to be completed by the end of November.
